A hackathon, also known as a codefest, is a social coding event that brings computer programmers and other interested people together to improve upon or build a new software program. The word hackathon is a portmanteau of the words hacker, which means clever programmer, and marathon, an event marked by endurance.

The goal of a hackathon is to create functioning software or hardware by the end of a 24-to-48-hour event. Hackathons tend to have a specific focus, which can include the programming language used, the operating system, an application, an API, or the subject and the demographic group of the programmers.

So to encourage and expand young minds, we are proud to announce that we will be hosting our first hackathon from Saturday April 6th from 8PM until Sunday April 7th 6PM . The event will be hosting at Trinity Innovation Center 1 Constitution Plaza Plaza 3rd Floor in downtown Hartford, CT!.

The theme of this hackathon will be:

The theme of this hackathon will be: Air Quality
